Informed Care
The mother is the first doctor of her family.
This is the container that helps her remember.
The Premise
Mothers don't need typical women's healthcare.
We need extraordinary care — because mothering is not an ordinary state.
- The functional medicine doctor tells you to cut out gluten — and never asks about the toddler who only eats pasta.
- The yoga teacher tells you to turn off your phone — and forgets there are tiny humans whose survival depends on you.
- The wellness coach tells you to prioritize self-care — without realizing your concept of self now includes your children.
- The mental health system pathologizes your sensitivity — when sensitivity is exactly what nature is asking of you.
Mothers are not ordinary people.
We need extraordinary care.
The Container
A space for everything that has nowhere else to go.
Matrescence Informed Care is a live group coaching container for mothers of young children — a space to bring all the things we don't talk about anywhere else.
The questions your pediatrician judged you for asking. The rage at your husband that no one will hold. The grief of mothering without a village. The questions about postpartum sex. About whether to send a two-year-old to preschool when she isn't ready to separate. About how to keep your family well in a world you're not always sure is safe for them.
The complaints about your body, your mind, your emotions — and the questions about your spirit.
Everything is welcome here. Every part of you is welcome here.
The Thesis
You are the first doctor of your family.
Not the pediatrician. Not the functional medicine doctor. Not the parenting expert. You.
The one whose body served as a doorway for consciousness to change form. The one whose nervous system regulates two. The one who knows, in her bones, when something is off — long before the labs come back.
You are not failing because you aren't prioritizing self-care. You are not broken because you are overwhelmed. You are an individual carrying the work of a multi-generational village, in a culture that has forgotten what mothers are.
Matrescence Informed Care is not here to add another expert to the chorus telling you what to do. It is here to help you stand in the knowing that is already yours.
What Changes
You learn to trust yourself with your family's health — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Together, in community, we weave the three things every mother needs and rarely has access to in one place:
- Your own intuition — reclaimed, sharpened, and trusted
- Mentorship from a doctor who has walked this path and built care around it
- Real data and information you can actually use
You leave with frameworks, tools, and a perspective you can carry into every doctor's appointment, every parenting decision, every quiet 3am moment when you're trying to figure out what your child — or you — needs.
You leave with a non-judgmental community of mothers who see you. The anger is welcome. The grief is welcome. The opinions are welcome. All of you is welcome.
You leave knowing how to be the first doctor of your family.
When a mother trusts herself, her family heals.
When a community of mothers trusts themselves, the world begins to change.
About Your Guide
Dr. Erica Matluck
Naturopathic doctor and family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of clinical experience in conventional, integrative, and functional medicine.
For most of those years, she practiced women's health without fully seeing mothers — without understanding what the female body, mind, nervous system, and heart are actually capable of.
It wasn't until she became a mother herself that she understood. The sensitivity she once might have pathologized is now the most sacred thing she knows. The devotional work of mothering revealed dimensions of medicine no training had prepared her for.
Matrescence Informed Care is the care she wished had existed when she was becoming a mother — and what she now knows every mother deserves.
